今年は、「日本・ジャマイカ外交関係樹立60周年」の記念すべき「日・カリブ交流年２０２４」にあたり、日本写真協会では国際交流事業のひとつとして、両国大使館と写真家安珠さん（当協会会員）の多大なご協力をいただき、ボブ・マリーの名曲のタイトルから「PHOTO♡ONE  LOVE」と題した日本・ジャマイカ国際交流写真展を開催いたします。

日本では、ジャマイカ在住の著名な５名の写真家が展示をいたします。ジャマイカの写真家が日本で展示するのは初とのことです。この写真展ではカリブ海とレゲエ音楽だけではないジャマイカの魅力的な風景、文化や歴史、人物、他に現代アーティストの作品を紹介いたします。

ジャマイカでは、日本を代表する著名な3名の写真家が、日本の風景、祭り、人物などを紹介する作品を展示いたします。安珠さんは両国で「日本とジャマイカの子供たち」の日常を捉えた作品を展示いたします。安珠さんは子供たちの日常生活を通してその国の文化を知ってもらい、子供たちの笑顔が明るい未来に繋がることを願われています。

尚、日本では、ジャマイカと姉妹都市交流をされています鳥取市にて１１月に巡回展を開催いたします。写真を通して国際交流の増進と文化の発展に寄与する事を理念とする当協会では、今回の写真展が日本とジャマイカの文化交流を促進する一助となれば、この上ない喜びです。多くの方にご来場を頂き、日本から遠く離れた国ジャマイカを知って感じていただければ幸いです。皆さまのご来場を心よからお待ちしております。

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Jamaica and the Japan-Caribbean Friendship Year 2024. 

As part of our international exchange activities, the Photographic Society of Japan will be holding a Japan-Jamaica international exchange photo exhibition entitled "PHOTO♡ONE LOVE," from the title of a famous Bob Marley song. This was made possible with the generous cooperation of the embassies of both countries and a member of our society, photographer Anju-san.In Japan, five well-known photographers living in Jamaica will exhibit their work. This is the first time that Jamaican photographers will exhibit in Japan. This photo exhibition will introduce not only the Caribbean and reggae music, but also Jamaica's fascinating landscapes, culture, history, people, and works by other contemporary artists.

In Jamaica, three well-known Japanese photographers will showcase their work, Japanese landscapes, festivals, people.

In both countries, Anju will exhibit works capturing the daily lives of "Japanese and Jamaican children." Anju hopes that people will learn about the culture of each country through the children's daily lives, and that the smiles of the children will lead to a brighter future.

In addition, exhibition will be held in November in Tottori City, Japan, which has sister city relations with Jamaica.Mission of our association is to promote international exchange and cultural development through photography, and we would be extremely pleased if this photo exhibition can help promote cultural exchange between Japan and Jamaica.We hope that many people will come to the exhibition and get to know and experience Jamaica, a country far away from Japan.We look forward to seeing you at the exhibition.
